On March 10th, the opening ceremony for the UK Richmond undergraduate-to-graduate international class was held in the multi-functional conference hall of the Yubei campus. President Li Keyong, Vice President Wang Guangming, Vice President Liu Yi, heads of the Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Office, and secondary colleges, as well as teachers and students of the international class, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Zhou Shanshan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
In his speech, Vice President Liu Yi first introduced the development process of international talent training for the UK Richmond undergraduate-to-graduate international class. He expressed that in the future, our school will continue to strive to provide students with more diverse and rich study abroad paths and professional choices to meet the needs of students from different disciplines and help students achieve diversified development.
President Li Keyong said that the task of cultivating international talents is arduous and long-term. In the next few years, the school will continue to deepen cooperation with foreign colleges and universities to provide students with more choices for studying abroad. However, at the same time, students also need to cherish opportunities, recognize the direction of the times, and grasp the course of life. He hopes that students in their youth will have a broad perspective in their eyes, passion in their hearts, and a long journey ahead.
Liu Jiangyan, the course supervisor of the international class, Teacher representative Li Jie, and student representative Dou Yijia spoke on behalf of their respective groups. Finally, Vice President Wang Guangming presented souvenirs to the teacher and student representatives of the international class to express the school’s good wishes for the teachers and students of the international class.
At present, the number of partner universities for our school’s undergraduate-to-graduate international class has expanded to 5, which are: Richmond American University London, UK; Keele University, UK; University of Aberdeen, UK; University of Portsmouth, UK; and Macquarie University, Australia. In the future, our school will continue to promote deeper and broader international exchange and educational cooperation, lead more students to step onto the global stage with a more open attitude, and train more outstanding international talents for the school and society.
